During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China's railway operating mileage increased from 146,300 kilometers to 165,000 kilometers, a growth of 12.8%, while high-speed railway mileage expanded from 37,900 kilometers to 50,400 kilometers, an increase of 32.98%, forming the world's largest and most advanced high-speed railway network.

At present, about 84% of the "Eight North-South and Eight East-West" high-speed railway main corridors have been completed and put into operation. Major corridors such as Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway, Beijing-Harbin and Beijing-Hong Kong-Macao Corridor, Beijing-Lanzhou High Speed Railway and Guangzhou-Kunming High Speed Railway have been connected, while corridors including Beijing-Hong Kong-Taiwan High Speed Railway, Huhhot-Nanning High Speed Railway, Beijing-Kunming High Speed Railway and Lanzhou-Guangzhou High Speed Railway are accelerating construction. As these key lines continue to be completed, China's high-speed railway development is transitioning from "connecting points into lines" to "weaving lines into a network."
