Recently, footage of trains "moving sideways" at the Harbin High-Power Locomotive Maintenance Depot has attracted public attention. This operation is part of the precise transfer process before maintenance of unpowered locomotives. It relies on a 30-meter-long locomotive transfer table and a road-rail vehicle with a maximum traction force of 500 tons, enabling seamless transfer of locomotives between different tracks. The depot is responsible for advanced maintenance of locomotives on multiple trunk lines and handles an average of 550 components per day during the Spring Festival travel rush.
