China’s Operational High-Speed Railway Mileage Surpasses 50,000 Kilometers

On December 26, with the opening of the Xi’an-Yan’an High Speed Railway, China’s operational high-speed railway mileage surpassed 50,000 kilometers. “China’s high-speed railway creates a better life” and “seeing China by high-speed train” have become widely shared public perceptions. During the 14th Five-Year Plan period, China’s high-speed railway has achieved further development, with significant improvements in network scale, quality and the level of equipment modernization. High-speed railway technologies have set international benchmarks, the supply of transport products and passenger services has continued to improve in quality and efficiency, industrial driving forces and economic spillover effects have become increasingly evident, and the travel experience of the public has steadily improved, providing strong support for Chinese modernization.
