On December 10, the Yiliang Tunnel, the longest tunnel along the entire Chongqing-Kunming High Speed Railway, was safely completed, laying a solid foundation for the full line to be completed and opened to traffic.
The Chongqing-Kunming High Speed Railway has a total length of approximately 700 kilometers, of which the Yunnan section measures 388.6 kilometers. It is the first high-speed railway in Yunnan province designed for a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour. After the entire line is completed and opened to traffic, travel time between Chongqing and Kunming will be reduced to about two and a half hours, which will be of great significance in promoting connectivity between the Chengdu-Chongqing economic circle and the central Yunnan urban agglomeration, and in driving high-quality economic and social development along the route.
