After 1,500 days of intensive construction, the Daping tunnel—one of the key control works of the Chongqing-Kunming High Speed Railway and built by CR-18th Bureau Group—was successfully completed on the morning of November 25. As of now, over 90% of the tunnels within the Yunnan section of the line have been completed, and construction of the Yunnan segment has entered the final sprint. As Yunnan’s first high-speed railway designed for a maximum speed of 350 kilometers per hour, its opening will significantly shorten travel time between Chongqing and Kunming and will play an important role in fostering a new development pattern and promoting high-quality economic and social development along the route.
