High-Speed Rail Express Service Powers “Double 11” Delivery Surge

In the early hours of November 7, the DJ5811 high-speed confirmation train carrying express parcels slowly departed from Zhengzhou Hangkonggang Railway Station. Five hours later, it traveled 1,200 kilometers and arrived in Chongqing.
Since the 20-day railway express service for the “Double 11” online shopping peak period began, CR-Zhengzhou has fully leveraged the strengths of its rail network, optimizing train operation plans and station resource allocation. This year, 19 stations within CR-Zhengzhou’s jurisdiction can handle express services, including 16 high-speed railway service stations. More than 200 EMU trains are scheduled each day to transport express shipments using surplus compartment capacity and high-speed rail express containers. CR-Zhengzhou has also utilized the advantages of air-rail intermodal transport by deploying two high-speed confirmation trains originating from and terminating at Zhengzhou Hangkonggang Railway Station to carry express goods, further boosting high-speed rail capacity during the peak period. In addition, 174 normal-speed passenger trains with baggage cars are scheduled daily to transport express shipments in order to meet “Double 11” logistics demand.
