Key Progress Achieved on Two Major Projects of
the Chongqing-Kunming High Speed Railway

On September 30, the Sangushui Grand Bridge, a key and difficult section of the Chongqing-Kunming High Speed Railway, was successfully closed. On September 29, the Yiche Tunnel, a first-level risk tunnel, was also successfully pierced. These two major breakthroughs lay a solid foundation for the on-schedule completion and operation of the full line.
Currently, the completion rate of bridges and tunnels on the railway has exceeded 90%. With a total length of approximately 700 km, once fully operational, the line will significantly reduce travel time from Chongqing to Kunming and play an important role in promoting high-quality economic and social development along the route.
