Alataw Pass, located in Alashankou city of the Bortala Mongol autonomous prefecture in Xinjiang, is a border port between China and Kazakhstan, 12 kilometers from the Dostyk Port of Kazakhstan. It is a major gateway for CRE trains and serves as a vital link for Chinese enterprises expanding into Central Asia, West Asia and European markets.
As of September 1, more than 5,000 CRE trains have passed through Alataw Pass this year. The station has set up dedicated service counters and introduced facilitation measures, significantly reducing dwell times and lowering enterprise declaration costs, injecting fresh momentum into the high-quality joint development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
