On 11 July, the technical tour of the 12th World Congress on High-Speed Rail was successfully held. Over 270 participants, including government officials, diplomats, corporate executives, experts, scholars and media representatives from the International Union of Railways (UIC) and more than 20 countries, regions and international organizations, boarded the CR400BF-GS Fuxing intelligent EMU train to experience the operations and services of China's first smart high-speed railway: the Beijing-Zhangjiakou High Speed Railway. Guests highly praised China's innovations and practical achievements in smart high-speed rail.
At 9:30 a.m., train G9981 departed from Qinghe Railway Station in Beijing, heading toward Taizicheng Railway Station, a key transport hub for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics.
During the journey, guests watched video briefings on China's high-speed railway development, the Beijing-Zhangjiakou Intelligent High Speed Railway, and the upgraded Fuxing intelligent EMU train. They also received in-depth presentations on intelligent equipment, construction and operations.
After 53 minutes of smooth travel, the train arrived on time at 10:23 a.m. at Taizicheng Railway Station. Guests visited the station's modern service facilities and took photos in front of the "Eye of the Winter Olympics" sculpture. In the Beijing-Zhangjiakou High Speed Railway Cultural Exhibition Hall, they learned about key engineering structures such as the Guanting Reservoir Grand Bridge, Tsinghua Garden Tunnel and Badaling Great Wall Railway Station, as well as the application of smart technologies along the route. China's innovations in smart high-speed rail impressed participants from across the globe.
"It was incredibly smooth!" said I?igo Aguas Ardaiz from France. "I couldn't even tell we were going 350 km/h! The ride was exceptionally comfortable. This is a technological masterpiece!"
Ali Abdollahi, a delegate from Iran, commended the service quality: "Everything was so comfortable. The train was extremely clean and well-maintained. I believe China has the most advanced high-speed rail system in the world. It's truly impressive!"
As part of the Beijing-Lanzhou Corridor in China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network outlined in the National Medium- and Long-Term Railway Plan, the 172-km Beijing-Zhangjiakou High Speed Railway links Beijingbei Railway Station and Zhangjiakou Railway Station. It is the world's first high-speed railway designed for 350 km/h operation with smart technologies, incorporating big data, cloud computing, IoT and AI to enable full-lifecycle management of rail infrastructure.
Since its launch over five years ago, the Beijing-Zhangjiakou High Speed Railway has continuously improved its capacity and service quality, transporting over 67 million passengers. It has greatly facilitated travel for residents along the route and strongly supported the coordinated development of the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region.
