At 9:16 a.m. on June 29, the Yangtze River Delta's first immersive film-themed tourist train departed from Shanghai Hongqiao Railway Station. More than 600 "film experience officers" boarded train G9241 bound for Hengdian in Dongyang city, Zhejiang province, known as the "Eastern Hollywood."
As the region's inaugural immersive film-themed tourist train, its eight carriages each present a unique "scene": the refined literary atmosphere of a writer's study, the chivalrous world of martial arts heroes, the intrigue-filled palace dramas, the romance of classic love stories and more. Each carriage acts as a moving "micro-movie." Over 40 actors accompany the journey, engaging passengers with impromptu interactive performances and entertaining quizzes, while gifting distinctive cultural souvenirs. Passengers become "characters" in the story, deeply immersed in the plot, experiencing the sensation of "playing inside a movie" and a time-travel-like adventure.
This tourist train precisely targets the three core groups of young people, seniors and families with children, offering tailor-made, distinctive experience itineraries. Upon arrival in Hengdian, the over 600 "experience officers" will enjoy a fully immersive encounter with the unique charm of the "Eastern Hollywood," touring film shooting locations, tasting authentic Dongyang cuisine, and staying in film-themed hotels, truly achieving an all-encompassing immersive cultural and tourism experience of "eating in the movie, staying in the movie, playing in the movie."
