On June 30, the first trans-Caspian CRE train from Beijing to Baku, Azerbaijan, departed from Fangshan District, Beijing. The train carried 104 TEUs loaded with automotive parts, mechanical equipment and other export goods, weighing over 2,300 tons. It utilizes a "rail-sea-rail" multimodal transport model, covering more than 8,000 kilometers with a transit time of about 15 days. The trans-Caspian international transport corridor is the southern route of CRE trains, offering a shorter and more stable alternative to traditional maritime shipping routes through combined railway and ferry transport.
Since the beginning of this year, Fangshan District in Beijing has accelerated the construction of a national logistics hub and expanded the international logistics network of CRE trains. Five new direct destinations, namely Moscow in Russia, Almaty in Kazakhstan, Tashkent in Uzbekistan, Minsk in Belarus, and Baku in Azerbaijan, have been added, providing strong support for foreign trade enterprises and export-oriented economic development.
