On June 17, a freight train carrying 1,768 cases of mineral water departed from Tiandong Railway Station en route to Qinzhou Port, where the cargo was seamlessly transferred onto a liner vessel bound for Shanghai Port. This marks the first time mineral water has been transported via the “Tiandong-Qinzhou Port-Shanghai Port” rail-water intermodal train under the single-bill coverage system, representing a breakthrough for Guangxi's high-value cargo rail-water intermodal project. In the future, this system will provide more customers with seamless, end-to-end transportation services.

The single-bill coverage system for rail-water intermodal transport removes efficiency bottlenecks in cargo transfer across rail, road and water routes, effectively reducing transportation and labour costs incurred in multiple handling stages. As the market for rail-water intermodal transport under this system expands, the benefits of railway development will further reach cargo owners and manufacturers, driving cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
