China's landscape is a tapestry of beauty, with spring blooming everywhere. Recently, CR-Xi'an has increased the frequency of cross-provincial and provincial senior- friendly tourism train. Departing from Xi'an, these trains head to cities like Nanjing, Kunming and around the Qinling Mountains, with elderly travelers joyfully embarking on journeys to explore "poetry and distant lands."
Statistics show that as of the end of 2024, 22% of China's population was aged 60 and above. The demand for travel services among senior citizens is on the rise. At the beginning of this year, nine organizations, including the Ministry of Commerce, the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and CR, jointly issued the "Action Plan to Increase Senior-friendly Tourism Train and Promote Service Consumption." The plan aims to enhance service supply, improve facilities for the elderly, and elevate service quality, creating new opportunities and space for railway passenger services while enriching the travel market and improving the well-being of seniors.
Relying on a modernized railway network, CR-Xi'an has strengthened partnerships with local governments, tourism spots, hotels and transportation companies. It actively taps into tourism resources and expands the operation of senior- friendly tourism train, making it easier for elderly passengers to enjoy natural landscapes, explore historical sites, and experience unique cultural customs.
