Construction Begins on Yancheng-Yixing High Speed Railway

        On December 27, construction began on the Yancheng-Yixing High Speed Railway, according to CR.

  The railway starts at Yancheng Railway Station on the Xuzhou-Yancheng High Speed Railway, passing through the cities of Yancheng, Taizhou, Wuxi, Changzhou and Yixing in Jiangsu Province, before connecting to Yixing Railway Station on the Nanjing-Hangzhou High Speed Railway. The new mainline spans approximately 311 kilometers. The line will feature 10 stations: Yancheng Railway Station, Xinghuadong Railway Station, Taizhounan Railway Station, Taixingdong Railway Station, Jingjiang Railway Station, Jiangyin Railway Station, Huishan Railway Station, Taihuxi Railway Station, Qianhuang Railway Station and Yixing Railway Station, with Yancheng Railway Station, Jiangyin Railway Station and Yixing Railway Station being existing stations, and the others newly constructed. The Yancheng-Jingjiang section and the Taihuxi-Yixing section of the railway are designed for a maximum speed of 350 km/h, while the Jingjiang-Taihuxi section is designed for 250 km/h. The construction period is 5.5 years.

  The Yancheng-Yixing High Speed Railway is a key project for infrastructure integration in the Yangtze River Delta region. It connects with the Xuzhou-Yancheng High Speed Railway, Yancheng-Nantong High Speed Railway and Qingdao-Yancheng Railway at Yancheng Railway Station, with the under-construction Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei High Speed Railway at Taizhounan Railway Station, and with the Nanjing-Hangzhou High Speed Railway at Yixing Railway Station. The project holds significant importance for the regional rail network, to greatly facilitate travel for local residents and play a crucial role in advancing the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta after completion.
