At around 3:00 PM on April 7, train No. 44047, loaded with quartz sand and bound for Thailand's Laem Chabang Port, smoothly departed from Xinyang Railway Station. This train, carrying rail-sea intermodal transportation containers, will be transported via the Yangluo Port in Wuhan and the Yangtze River to the Shanghai Waigang Port before heading out to sea, reaching its final destination. The inaugural run of the "Xinyang-Wuhan-Shanghai-Thailand" rail-sea intermodal transportation route signifies the opening of a new external trade channel for Xinyang, located in the old revolutionary base area of the Dabie Mountains. This development injects a strong impetus into the regional economic development.

Xinyang City is located at the intersection of two major railway lines, the Beijing-Guangzhou Railway and the Nanjing-Xi'an Railway, making it a crucial transportation and logistics hub in the Central Plains region. With abundant sources of goods from surrounding areas converging here, Xinyang exhibits robust foreign trade demand.
