International Passenger Train Between Huhhot and Ulaanbaatar Resumes Service

    Huhhot, March 23 (Reported by Ma Wei, Xie Kun, and Tao Bo) - At 21:59 on March 15, as train No. 4652/4653 departed from Huhhot Railway Station, the international intermodal passenger train service between Huhhot and Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, resumed operation after a suspension of nearly 1500 days.

  With the increasingly close flow of people and goods between China and Mongolia, and through negotiations between the railway authorities of both countries, the international intermodal passenger train service between Huhhot and Ulaanbaatar resumed operation starting on March 15, 2024. This move aims to further facilitate travel for people of both nations and promote regional economic and social development.

  It is reported that the resumed international intermodal passenger train operates from Huhhot Railway Station to Ulaanbaatar Railway Station every Monday and Friday. Specifically, train No. 4652/4653, departing from Huhhot Railway Station, changes its train number to 33 after departing from Erenhot Railway Port and travels to Ulaanbaatar Railway Station. On the other direction, train No. 34, departing from Ulaanbaatar Railway Station, changes its train number to 4654/4651 after entering Erenhot Railway Port and travels to Huhhot Railway Station. The resumption of the international intermodal passenger train service will further facilitate travel between the two countries.
