On August 31st, the 62-day summer railway travel season came to a successful close. During the period, under the unified command of the Ministry of Public Security’s Bureau of Railway Public Security, national railway public security agencies carried out special operations such as summer railway security crackdowns and the “Three Governance” initiative. They rigorously cracked down on various illegal activities, including theft, robbery, fraud, seat occupancy disputes, and smoking on high speed trains. These efforts improved the security environment of the railway system, resulting in the successful resolution of over 5,700 criminal cases and the handling of more than 24,000 security incidents, leading to the apprehension of over 10,000 suspects involved in illegal activities.

Railway public security agencies across the country effectively deployed police forces, scientifically stationed personnel, maintained close communication with local public security departments, and stationed armed police at railway stations. They strengthened the implementation of joint-defense mechanisms, enhanced security control in and around stations, and promptly dealt with illegal activities such as seat disputes, harassment, and smoking on trains. Furthermore, they encouraged cooperation between the police and railway companies, overseeing security checks, enforcing strict real-name ticket verification, and collaboratively conducting inspections and remediation of risks. Collaborative efforts among various departments and divisions were strengthened, comprehensive plans were improved, and drills were conducted to ensure preparedness for adverse weather conditions and natural disasters.

While maintaining a secure and orderly environment, railway public security agencies across various regions have organized police officers to go deep into station platforms and train lines. They have employed various forms of communication, such as performances by staff with artistic skills, creating informational boards, and playing videos, to extensively promote travel safety knowledge, including theft prevention and fraud awareness. In addition, they have conducted practical “Serve the People” activities to provide dedicated assistance and ensure the safety of passenger travel.
