Opinions on Strengthening Safety and Environmental Governance along Railways Issued Jointly by 12 Government Departments and Institutions

Recently, with the consent of the State Council, 12 government departments and institutions, including the Ministry of Transport, the Committee of Political and Legal Affairs of the CPC Central Committee and China State Railway Group Co., Ltd., have jointly issued the Opinions on Strengthening Safety and Environmental Governance along Railways. It focuses on building a working pattern of government leading, department guidance, enterprise engagement, railway-local authority coordination and multi-organization governance, to continuously improve the safety and environmental conditions along the railways.
CHINA RAILWAY has always attached great importance to the external safety and environmental governance of railways, and has taken a series of effective measures to eliminate potential safety hazards. On June 1, CHINA RAILWAY issued the Notice on Further Strengthening the Rectification of Potential Hazards in the External Environmental Conditions of Railways, requiring all CR regional groups to organize and carry out special rectification of light (hard) drifts, focusing on such issues as greenhouse film and color steel tile within 500m, with a full-coverage screening, so as to effectively eliminate potential safety hazards.
