Originating form Wuhan, Wuhan-Shiyan HSR passes through Xiaogan, Yunmeng County, Anlu, Suizhou, Zaoyang, Xiangyang, Gucheng County and Danjiangkou in Hubei province, and finally ends in Shiyan. The railway has a total length of 399 kilometers and a maximum design speed of 350km/h, has along its way 13 stations, including Xiaogan East Station, Pengxing Station (reserved station), Yunmeng East Station, Anlu West Station, Suizhou South Station, Suixian Station, Zaoyang Station, Xiangyang East Station, Longzhong Station (temporarily not handling passenger transport services), Gucheng North Station, Danjiangkou Station, Wudangshan West Station, Shiyan East Station, etc., with an initial operation speed of 300 km/h.
In the initial operation period of the Wuhan-Shiyan HSR, the railway sector will operate 30 pairs of EMU trains. The shortest running time between Shiyan and Wuhan will be 1 hour and 57 minutes. After the adjustment of train operating diagrams for national railways on December 30, 2019, 39.5 pairs of daily EMU trains, 6 pairs of weekend EMU trains and 12 pairs of peak-day EMU trains will be operated.
Before the operation of Wuhan-Shiyan HSR, CR carefully organized relevant units to strictly implement various regulations and standards, conduct integrated commissioning & test, inspection, acceptance and safety assessment on various professional equipment of the HSR, and comprehensively optimize and adjust the track status, pantograph-OCS performance, train control, and communication & signaling system, ensuring that the HSR can meet the requirements for safe and stable operation. At present, the HSR already meets the requirements for operation.
Wuhan-Shiyan HSR is a quick traffic corridor between the central and northwest regions in China's HSR network of "eight north-south lines and eight east-west lines", of which the Xiaogan-Yunmeng section will be incorporated into the existing Wuhan-Xiaogan Inter-city Railway, and the Yunmeng-Shiyan section is an important part of the Wuhan-Xi'an HSR. This HSR passes through the Yellow Crane Tower, Hometown of Emperor Yan (Shen Nong), Longzhong National Scenic Area, Danjiangkou Reservoir, Wudang Mountain and other scenic spots, connecting Wuhan, Xiaogan, Suizhou, Xiangyang and other famous historical and cultural cities and excellent tourist cities. It is a golden tour route and is called "Hubei's most beautiful HSR". The operation of the Wuhan-Shiyan HSR will provide a fast and efficient transportation corridor supporting the close connection between the "Xiangyang-Shiyan-Suizhou urban agglomeration" and the "Wuhan city circle", greatly facilitating the travel of people along the railway line, and is of great significance for speeding up the development of tourism resources in northwest Hubei and promoting regional economic and social development.
It is reported that the railway sector will start selling EMU train tickets for Wuhan-Shiyan HSR at 18: 00 on November 27.
