Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway Registers Safe Operation for Eight Years in a Row with Over One Billion Trips Made

By June 30th, Beijing-Shanghai HSR has been in safe operation for 8 years in a row, during which a total of 1.03 billion trips were made, with an average annual growth of 17.9%. The railway satisfies passengers’ requirement for pleasant journey and strongly promotes economic and social development as well as public service level in the four provinces and three cities along the line. 

Beijing-Shanghai HSR began its construction on April 18th, 2008 and was put into operation on June 30th, 2011. At the time, it was the longest HSR build with the highest standard in one-phase project  in the world. Since its opening, the railway has constantly improved the service quality to meet the passengers’ demand, building up a brand widely recognized by the society. 

Four days before the 8th anniversary of the Beijing-Shanghai HSR, Fuxing EMU witnessed its second anniversary of operation on June 26th. The Fuxing EMU made its debut on Beijing-Shanghai HSR two years ago and started galloping on the vast land in China at the speed of 350km/h, demonstrating the creativity and vitality of Chinese people to the whole world in the new era.
