Breakthrough Achieved in China's First High-Speed

Railway Tunnel Crossing the Yangtze River

 

  The Chongqing Caiyuanba Yangtze River Railway Tunnel on the Chongqing-Xiamen High-Speed Railway achieved breakthrough on July 24, becoming China's first high-speed railway tunnel crossing the Yangtze River.

  The tunnel has a total length of 11,942 meters. The Chongqing-Xiamen High-Speed Railway, which starts in Chongqing and terminates in Xiamen, is an important part of China's "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network. It will form a high-speed railway corridor between Chongqing and Xiamen, making travel more convenient for people along the route.
