On June 30, the high-speed railway linking Xi'an, Shanxi province, and Shiyan, Hubei province,opened for operation, completing the entire Xi'an-Wuhan High-Speed Railway corridor and enabling the fastest journey between Xi'an and Wuhan, which can be made in 2 hours and 41 minutes. It is China's first 350 km/h high-speed railway line to pass through the Qinling Mountains.
