Beiping Tunnel on Xi'an-Chongqing High Speed Railway Successfully Breaks Through

 

  On June 23, the Beiping Tunnel, a key project on the Xi'an-Chongqing High Speed Railway, successfully broke through. The tunnel stretches 7,582 meters in total, with construction employing detection and gas monitoring technologies to address complex geological conditions. The line is scheduled to open in 2028 with a designed speed of 350 km/h. Upon opening, the fastest travel time between Xi'an and Chongqing will be approximately 2 hours, saving considerable time compared to existing routes and further improving the high speed railway network in western China.
