During the May Day holiday, Xundiandong Railway Station, the first station on the Yunnan section of the Chongqing-Kunming High Speed Railway, was officially completed. Located in a complex geological zone on the plateau, the construction overcame challenges such as rugged terrain and multi-trade cross-operations.
The Chongqing-Kunming High Speed Railway is an important component of the Beijing-Kunming Corridor, part of the "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network. Running through Chongqing, Sichuan, Guizhou and Yunnan, it has a designed speed of 350 km/h. Upon operation, the travel time from Chongqing to Kunming will be shortened to approximately 2.5 hours, and Chengdu to Kunming to about 3 hours.
