In recent days, the Xi'an-Shiyan High Speed Railway, connecting Xi'an in Shaanxi province and Shiyan in Hubei province, has entered the final sprint stage before opening, with various tests such as integrated testing and commissioning and pre-opening finishing work in full swing.
The Xi'an-Shiyan High Speed Railway is a major component of the national "Eight Vertical and Eight Horizontal" high-speed railway network. Upon opening, it will seamlessly connect with the Wuhan-Shiyan High Speed Railway, enabling fast direct links between the Guanzhong Plain city cluster and the city cluster in the middle reaches of the Yangtze River. By then, travel time from Xi'an to Shiyan will be around one hour, and Xi'an to Wuhan will be reduced from five hours to three hours. Travel time from Xi'an to many destinations in central China will be significantly shortened, truly achieving half-day travel from Guanzhong to central China.
