All Bridge Construction Completed on the Chongqing-Kunming High Speed Railway

On the morning of February 3, as the final box girder was precisely placed at the construction site of the Chongqing-Kunming High Speed Railway located in Chenggong district, Kunming city, Yunnan province, all bridge construction for the line was completed, marking the project’s entry into a full-scale sprint phase.

The Chongqing-Kunming High Speed Railway is an important component of China’s “Eight North-South and Eight East-West” Corridors high-speed railway network, specifically the Beijing-Kunming corridor. The line starts from Chongqingxi Railway Station, passes through Chongqing municipality, Sichuan province, Guizhou province and Yunnan province, and connects to Kunmingnan Railway Station. Upon completion and commencement of operations, travel time between Chongqing and Kunming will be reduced to approximately two and a half hours.
