On 21 September, the main tower of the cable-stayed bridge over the Chuhe River on the Nanjing Grand Bridge of the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hefei High Speed Railway, constructed by Shanghai Civil Engineering Co., Ltd of CREC was successfully topped out. The railway, with a total length of about 554 kilometers and a designed speed of 350 kilometers per hour, will upon completion establish a rapid new transport corridor connecting the metropolitan areas of Shanghai, Nanjing and Hefei, further advancing the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta region.
