Track-Laying For Entire Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High Speed Railway Is Completed

     On June 28, at the construction site of the Hongqi Grand Bridge of Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High Speed Railway in Songjiang District, Shanghai, the last pair of fasteners on the 500-meter-long rail were installed and fastened, marking the completion of track-laying of the entire high speed railway. The construction will enter the stage of static acceptance at the end of July this year. This railway will be qualified for operation at the end of the year.

  The Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High Speed Railway starts from Shanghai Hongqiao Station, passes through Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, and ends at Huzhou Station of Huzhou, Zhejiang Province. It has a total length of about 163.8 km, with a design speed of 350 km per hour. It is a major project for the infrastructure interconnection between Shanghai, Suzhou and Huzhou, and also a key project for the network building, network replenishment, and chain strengthening of high speed railway in the Yangtze River Delta.

  It is reported that when the Shanghai-Suzhou-Huzhou High Speed Railway begins to operate, it will further make up the regional road network, effectively ease the transportation pressure of railways between Shanghai and Nanjing and Shanghai and Hangzhou, optimize the layout of Shanghai Railway Hubs, and be of great significance in propelling the economic and social development along the route and the high-quality development of the integrated Yangtze River Delta.
