Since the sale of train tickets for the May Day holiday started, demand has been extremely strong. To meet passenger demand to the greatest extent possible, railway authorities plan to adjust the night-time maintenance window for high-speed railways during the peak travel periods at the beginning and end of the holiday and on routes where passenger flows are relatively concentrated. Under the premise of ensuring safety, through night-time high-speed trains will be arranged on major high-speed railway trunk lines such as the Beijing-Shanghai High Speed Railway, Beijing-Guangzhou High Speed Railway and Beijing-Harbin High Speed Railway during the nights from April 29 to the early mornings of May 2 and from the nights of May 4 to the early mornings of May 6, with an average of around 700 additional services per day.
