February 10 marked the “Little New Year” in northern China. On that day, national railways transported 13.98 million passengers, a year-on-year increase of 4.9 percent. Since the start of the Spring Festival travel rush, cumulative passenger trips have exceeded 100 million, with transportation remaining safe, stable and orderly.
On February 10, railway passenger flows entered the pre-holiday peak period. Railway authorities conducted real-time monitoring and analysis of advance ticket sales and standby ticket purchase data, made every effort to tap transport capacity potential, promptly increased capacity allocation on popular routes and during peak periods and added night high-speed railway trains to fully meet passenger travel demand.
