From June 23rd to 24th, a Fuxing EMU train, painted in three colors: Green, Red, and Grey, conducted trial operations on the Xining to Golmud section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. This marked the nearing completion of the dynamic testing on the Xining-Golmud section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, as the Fuxing EMU train prepares to enter the Qinghai-Tibet Railway.
During this trial operation, the high speed train ran at a specified speed, conducting comprehensive tests on the transportation efficiency of the Xining-Golmud section. This lays a solid foundation for the operation of the Fuxing EMU trains with a speed of 160 kilometers per hour on the Xining-Golmud section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway. Prior to this, CR-Qingzang had successively completed static acceptance tests and step-by-step speed-up tests of inspection vehicles in this section.
To ensure the successful trial operation, CR-Qingzang established a leading group consisting of nearly 100 professional technical personnel from various systems. They specified their respective responsibilities and test scopes, including 35 detection items such as track geometric dimensions and catenary geometric parameters, as well as 2 test items for the operation of high speed trains. This was done to ensure the acquisition of comprehensive operational data and inspection reports.
Since the start of the improvement project of the Xining-Golmud section of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway in July 2022, CR-Qingzang and participating construction units have upheld the spirit of the Qinghai-Tibet Railway, known as “Challenging Limits, Courageously Creating Excellence.” They have worked day and night to comprehensively address various track, bridge, tunnel, and culvert infrastructure issues. They have upgraded and renovated passenger facilities at stations such as Huangyuan, Haiyan, Wulan, and Delingha Railway Stations, which have a high demand for transportation. Simultaneously, they have carried out repairs on the entire Qinghai-Tibet Railway, including power supply, communication, and signaling equipment. They have also concentrated on strengthening supporting facilities such as windbreaks, protection, and drainage along the railway, creating favorable conditions for the operation of Fuxing EMU trains with a speed of 160 kilometers per hour on the existing railway line. As of June 25th, most of the projects have been completed. Next, CR-Qingzang will diligently carry out crew training, comprehensive emergency drills, safety assessments, and other preparations to ensure a successful launch.
The introduction of Fuxing EMU trains onto the Qinghai-Tibet Railway is a historic event since the opening of the Xining-Golmud section in 1984. It holds significant importance in improving passenger transportation along the Qinghai-Tibet main railway transportation corridor, promoting resource development and industrial upgrading along the route, driving regional high-quality development, and meeting the aspirations of the people for a better life.
