This year, over RMB 580 million worth of automobile and motorcycle parts and accessories have been exported via Qinzhou Customs and transported along the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, with a year-on-year increase of 92.1%. At present, about 20 trains arriving at and departing from Qinzhougangdong Railway Station run on New Western Land-Sea Corridor every day, connecting many provinces, autonomous regions and a municipality in central and western China to reach many countries and regions such as Singapore and Germany. The Corridor now serves as a strong engine to drive economic growth in western China and promote the dual-circulation with domestic and international development reinforcing each other.
To seize the new opportunities brought by RCEP, CR Nanning took the initiative to cater to the Yangtze River Economic Belt, strengthen the coordination and connection with the Chengdu-Chongqing Economic Circle and Hainan Free Trade Port, deepen cooperation with neighboring provinces such as Hunan, Yunnan, Guizhou, by fully stimulating the development of the surrounding areas and vigorously promoting the deep integration of transportation, logistics, trade and industry along the Corridor. This year, CR Nanning launched rail-sea intermodal transport from UAE to Lanzhou and from Southeast Asia to Xi’an via Qinzhou, and operated the transport service of featured goods such as Indian raw sugar and imported automobiles from the Middle East. In the first quarter, a total of 170,000 TEUs of containerized goods were transported by trains running on the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, with a year-on-year increase of 56.5%, further forwarding the combined effect of goods.、
CR took various measures for the smooth operation of the trains, to fulfill the increasing demand for freight transport through New Western Land-Sea Corridor. CR strictly implemented the requirements of local epidemic prevention and control, took strict measures on fixed-location loading and unloading, disinfection, PCR tests for Covid-19, and promoted the non-contact goods handover mode such as hoisting to ensure the delivery safety of goods. To maintain the loading and transport capacity during the epidemic prevention and control period, CR staff made proper arrangements based on the investigation on health and quarantine situations of container truck drivers around Qinzhougang Railway Station and Qinzhougangdong Railway Station. Furthermore, CR kept closer contact and communication with the customs, border inspection authorities and freight forwarders, to improve the efficiency of customs clearance of goods, thus ensuring continuing growth of freight transport through the New Western Land-Sea Corridor.
