In the fourth quarter, the freight transport has entered its peak season, especially the demand for thermal coal transport increased significantly. The railway sector has strengthened transport organization, optimized the transport route of thermal coal, given full play to the role of main coal transport corridors, and improved coal transport capacity, thus effectively stabilizing the coal market.
After the implementation of the train operating diagram in the fourth quarter, the railway freight transport capacity has been further improved. From October 1 to 20, the national railways registered a daily car loading of 172,397, an increase of 11,515 year-on-year. The CR regional groups have made full use of the non-working time in “maintenance window” and the non-operation time of the weekend services to operate additional freight trains and step up coal transport. From October 11 to 18, China Railway Taiyuan Group Co., Ltd. registered a daily car loading (C80 wagon) of 122 on Datong-Qinhuangdao Railway under its administration, an increase of 5 from the previous month. The stock coal in Qinhuangdao Port has risen again from 4.8 million tons to over 5 million tons.
