“Golden train, golden train, brothers and sisters of all ethnic groups hand in hand, setting off towards hope...” Starting on January 12, the dance drama “The Happy Golden Train,” funded by the China National Arts Fund Management Center, will be performed for five consecutive shows at the Xinjiang Art Theater.

This dance drama is jointly produced by China Railway Art Troupe Co., Ltd., Xinjiang Art Theater, and CR-Urumqi. It tells the story of Zhao Chengzhong, a railway official for regional assistance, who, during his return to Urumqi for medical treatment, starts the “Train Bazaar” and launches the “Network Bazaar” consumer assistance mini-program, together with the train officer Gu Liya while traveling on the “Hotan Jade Dragon” train. The production also portrays a series of touching stories about helping the needy and caring gestures.

The golden train heads towards the road of happiness. According to the introduction, “The Happy Golden Train” is based on the true stories of CR-Urumqi, which has implemented various measures such as dispatching poverty alleviation officers, launching public welfare slow trains, and creating “railway-brand” industries to help alleviate poverty in Hotan County and contribute to rural revitalization. The drama vividly showcases the touching scenes of the railway personnel in the new era embracing the people of all ethnic groups in Xinjiang “as tightly as pomegranate seeds,” creating a beautiful life together.
