Many visitors to Hangzhou get confused about Chengzhan Railway Station (or “City Station”), Hangzhou Railway Station and Hangzhoudong Railway Station. There are always people standing in front of the Hangzhou Railway Station, asking where the Chengzhan Station is.

Actually, City Station serves as the Hangzhou Railway Station. It is located in the center of the old town of Hangzhou, within a stone's throw from the West Lake. It is responsible for the receiving & departure of passenger trains including some of the HSR trains (or EMUs). Opened in July 1, 2013, Hangzhoudong Railway Station is located in the east part of Hangzhou, and is responsible for passenger transport of most HSR trains and passing trains.

The City Station is one of the earliest train stations in Hangzhou, a symbol of historical memories of a lot of Hangzhou natives. Despite several rounds of changes, it is still called as the “City Station”. The original appearance of the station is now displayed in a railway theme park named "Qingtai Station", which is located not far on the right of Hangzhou Railway Station.

Different from other large and expensive theme parks, this theme park has a clean style: it has a 30-m long old railway line, a platform of more than 40 m2, a piece of station panel named "Qing Tai Station", a monument of an old map of Zhejiang provincial capital in late Qing Dynasty, and a group of old photos. They restore the historical features of original Jiangshu railway and Hangzhou Railway Station, and carry the 100-year history of Hangzhou railway. At present, many citizens come here for morning exercises, while a lot of parents take their children here to seek traces of the history of Hangzhou Railway Station.
