Cross-Border Trade via China-Laos Railway Sees Strong Start in Q1

In the first quarter of this year, the import and export value via the China-Laos Railway reached 6.81 billion yuan, up 62.7% year on year, hitting a record high for the same period. On the import side, dried and fresh fruits imported via the China-Laos Railway were valued at 500 million yuan, a year-on-year increase of 100%, while bulk commodities such as grain, metal ores and mineral sands totaled 1.13 billion yuan, up 34.6% year on year. The average daily number of trains operating on the railway increased from 2 to 20, with cross-border freight volume and value climbing year after year.

With its advantages of stability, high efficiency and controllable costs in cross-border logistics, the China-Laos Railway has strongly boosted the export growth of China's "new three" products and become an important channel for enterprises to expand Southeast Asia's green energy market and deepen regional production capacity cooperation.
