Import and Export Value of China-Laos Railway Surges by Nearly 90%

During Spring Festival Travel Rush

 

  

     Since the start of the Spring Festival travel rush, the import and export value of the China-Laos Railway has exceeded 1.48 billion yuan, up 89.76% year on year. Tropical fruits such as durians and bananas from Southeast Asia are transported via the “Yunnan-Vientiane Express” and can reach Chinese consumers’ holiday tables within 26 hours from Vientiane, Laos.

  According to statistics from Kunming Customs, since the launch of the Spring Festival travel rush on January 14, the total volume of import and export goods transported via the China-Laos Railway reached 322,700 tons, with a total value of 1.48 billion yuan, marking a year-on-year increase of nearly 90%. Among them, demand for imported fruits from ASEAN countries remained strong, with the freight volume of popular holiday goods such as durians and bananas increasing by 17.63% year on year, continuously supplying fresh produce to the domestic Spring Festival market.
