First Beijing-Almaty Central Asia Freight Train Departs

On September 11, a Central Asia freight train carrying 55 containers departed slowly from the Gaowei Railway Siding under the Beijing Railway Logistics Center, heading for Almaty, Kazakhstan. This marked the successful launch of the first Beijing-Almaty Central Asia freight train.

The train was loaded with automobile parts, air conditioners, microwave ovens and other goods. It exited China via Alashankou Railway Port and will ultimately arrive in Almaty, Kazakhstan.

The launch of the Beijing-Almaty freight train is an important measure by the railway sector to actively respond to the trade development needs between China and Central Asian countries and to optimize international logistics corridors. With significant advantages in transportation time, cost and stability, the train not only helps improve the efficiency of foreign trade cargo transport for Beijing and surrounding areas and lowers logistics costs for enterprises, but also builds a more convenient and efficient transport bridge for trade exchanges between China and Kazakhstan.
