Beijing, February 21 (Reported by Wang Zhaojie and Ren Weiyun) - On February 10, the first day of the Lunar New Year, after hastily eating a few dumplings for breakfast, Qi Fengran, the person in charge of the Serbia section project of the Hungary-Serbia Railway at China Railway International Group Co., Ltd., hurried to the construction site of the Remayewo Railway Station.

Remayewo Railway Station is one of the key projects of the Novi Sad-Subotica Section of the Hungary-Serbia Railway. Shortly before the Chinese New Year of the Dragon, leaders of the Party Committee of CR sent video condolences to the construction personnel of the Hungary-Serbia Railway. “The care and concern from our distant motherland inspire us to make this project a benchmark and model!” Qi Fengran has spent four Chinese New Year holidays in Serbia and chose to stay again this year.

Like Qi, 1,100 Chinese construction workers chose to stay in Serbia for the Spring Festival this year, voluntarily giving up their holiday rest to accelerate the construction of the Novi Sad-Subotica Section of the Hungary-Serbia Railway. Currently, all indoor work such as the shipping and installation of communication signal room cabinets at Remayewo Railway Station has been completed and is ready for commissioning. The construction of communication signal systems at other stations such as Novi Sad Railway Station and Redenic Railway Station is also in the final stages.

This Spring Festival, the construction site of the Hungary-Serbia Railway along the Danube River echoed with the roar of machinery, and good news kept pouring in: the roadbed construction from Novi Sad to Vrbas was successfully accepted, and the construction of track works proceeded as scheduled; the track laying of the Remayewo-Vrbas section passed smoothly through the K110+351 steel truss bridge; the installation of traction cables and contact line supports from Kesatce Railway Station to Spanovichevo was completed; the roadbed construction from Ba?ka Topola to Navicovo and the sub-ballast laying from Rovocinac to Ba?ka Topola mainline were all completed, creating favorable conditions for rapid track laying in the later stages.

The Hungary-Serbia Railway is a flagship project of cooperation between China and Central and Eastern European countries and a key project for the high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road” Initiative (BRI), with a total length of 341.7 kilometers, including 183.1 kilometers in the Serbia section.

To consolidate efforts in overseas project construction, the Party Committee of the China Railway International Group Co., Ltd. visited the families of overseas employees before the Spring Festival, bringing warmth in the winter, and arranged holiday life and logistical support for on-site construction personnel, ensuring that they could celebrate the New Year and enjoy the Spring Festival with peace of mind at the construction site.
