In 2025, China-Vietnam trains departing from Guangxi carried a total of 37,000 TEUs of export goods, up 86% year-on-year, setting a new historical record. The number of cargo categories increased from 262 to 455. These trains accounted for 73% of all railway export trains to Vietnam and 86% of all containerized export cargo to Vietnam nationwide, up 5 and 2 percentage points respectively compared with 2024.

To meet the rapidly growing demand for cross-border trade between China and Vietnam, starting in 2025, CR-Nanning increased the traction capacity of trains from Pingxiang in Guangxi to Dong Dang in Vietnam from 1,000 tons to 1,300 tons, while the customs clearance capacity at Pingxiang Railway Port was enhanced by 30%. In addition, the operation plan for CRE trains was continuously optimized, with weekly scheduled trains increased from the initial three to 14, enabling same-day departure and same-day arrival of goods.
