Regular Operation of Central Asia Trains Brings New Development

Opportunities to Western China

From January to August 2025, 35 outbound Central Asia trains were operated from Chongqing, transporting more than 3,000 TEUs of cargo with a total value of nearly 600 million yuan. In April this year, Chongqing launched its first scheduled Central Asia train, achieving regular operation with a fixed frequency of two trains per month. Compared with the previous road-to-rail intermodal mode, the regular operation of Central Asia trains has improved logistics efficiency from Chongqing to Central Asia by more than 20 percent and reduced the cost per container by 15 percent.
