China-Vietnam Freight Trains Increase by 56% in the First Two Months of the Year

      Nanning, February 29 (Reported by Pang Geping and Mo Yujie): In the early hours of February 29, the X9101 China-Vietnam freight train departed from Nanningnan Railway Station in Guangxi, loaded with machinery, chemicals, and other goods bound for Yen Vien Station in Vietnam. Since the beginning of the year, cross-border railway freight transportation between China and Vietnam has maintained high-level operations, with a significant increase in volume. According to statistics from CR-Nanning, in the first two months of this year, 25 China-Vietnam freight trains were operated, transporting 600 TEUs of goods, representing a year-on-year increase of 56% and 35%, respectively. Cross-border freight transportation between China and Vietnam continues to thrive.

  Currently, the main commodities transported via the China-Vietnam cross-border railway include machinery, electronic products, traditional Chinese medicine materials, fruits, and more, covering over 620 different types of goods. The collection points include more than 20 cities within and outside the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, and the cross-border transportation network extends to ASEAN countries such as Vietnam, Laos, and Thailand. In the first two months of this year, the total volume of goods passing through the Pingxiang railway port reached 32,000 tons, with exports accounting for 52% of the total. The products with the most significant increases in throughput volumes include chemicals and fiberboard, which increased by 51% and 1294% respectively year on year.

  Today, the transportation time of the China-Vietnam freight trains from Nanningnan Railway Station to Yen Vien station in Vietnam remains stable at less than 16.5 hours, with the fastest time being 14.5 hours, achieving “departure, customs clearance, and arrival on the same day.” The overall transportation time has increased by 65%.
