On May 24, a sea-rail intermodal train loaded with the complete parts of 24 new energy vehicles departed from Liuzhou South Logistics Center in Guangxi. After arriving at Qinzhou Port, the automobile parts will be shipped to Jakarta, Indonesia. This is the first attempt to export new energy vehicles by rail in Guangxi, marking an additional category of goods exported through the New Western Land-Sea Corridor.
As the largest industrial city in Guangxi, Liuzhou boasts the national automobile parts production base, the national automobile and parts export base and the national automobile industry demonstration base. New energy vehicles produced in Guangxi were exported mainly through the road-sea intermodal transport in the past, while this sea-rail intermodal train through the New Western Land-Sea Corridor takes about 7 days less.
CR Nanning tailored the transport scheme up to the demands of enterprises, so as to materialize a seamless sea-rail transport. It meticulously organized the whole process, with the specially-assigned staff to monitor the entire container train loading operation, thus ensuring safe and rapid loading of goods. In response to the current conditions of intensive arrival and unloading of goods at Qinzhougangdong Railway Station, it coordinated with the port authority and customs to optimize the unloading scheme and open a green channel for sea-rail intermodal trains, making an effort to ensure efficient loading of goods.
It is reported that the goods transported by the sea-rail intermodal trains through the New Western Land-Sea Corridor in Guangxi included engineering machinery, complete vehicles, automobile parts, rails, computer parts and so forth. To date, 7 routes connecting Sichuan, Yunnan, Guizhou, Henan, Guangxi and others had been open for the rail-sea intermodal trains through the New Western Land-Sea Corridor, with a seamless connection to CRE trains in Chongqing, covering 102 stations in 53 cities of 14 provinces, and reaching more than 300 ports in more than 100 countries and regions across 6 continents, which promoted the foreign trade of Guangxi.
