CRE Trains Exceed 300,000 TEUs at Erenhot Railway Port

As of September 8, the volume of CRE trains handled at Erenhot Railway Port exceeded 300,000 TEUs this year, reaching the target 23 days earlier than in 2024.

Located at the core of the China-Mongolia-Russia Economic Corridor, Erenhot Railway Port is the only railway port for entry and exit along the central corridor of CRE trains. Since the first CRE train passed through in 2013, the port has cumulatively handled more than 20,000 trains. In both 2023 and 2024, the port achieved over 3,000 trains in a single year, with the scale of traffic steadily increasing.

In response to growing demand for cross-border transportation, railway authorities have continued to expand the international logistics network. This year, new routes such as "Wuhu-Moscow," "Liulihe-Minsk" and "Datong-Selyatino" have been added, bringing the number of operating routes on the central corridor to 74. These routes connect more than 70 cities or stations in over 10 countries including Germany and Poland, and cover more than 60 cities in China. The trains transport over 10,000 types of goods, including new energy vehicles and components, as well as high-end machinery and equipment.

As of September 8, Erenhot Railway Port had handled a total of 2,646 CRE trains this year, carrying 3.4876 million tons of cargo, representing year-on-year increases of 9.5 percent and 15.4 percent, respectively.
