As of August 6, more than 3,000 CRE trains had travelled through the “Eastern Corridor” this year, transporting over 300,000 TEUs of various goods. Among them, return trips accounted for 33.1% of the national total, with an average of 275 return trains per month carrying 27,647 TEUs of cargo.
The “Eastern Corridor” consists of the Manzhouli, Suifenhe, and Tongjiang railway ports, forming China’s largest CRE train port cluster and handling 26.6% of the national total. Currently, the number of routes has increased to 27, covering 14 countries including Poland, Germany and the Netherlands, and connecting over 60 domestic cities such as Changsha, Zhengzhou, Chengdu and Suzhou. Transported goods include 12 major categories such as electronic products, aviation components, light industry textiles and general merchandise, as well as grain and soybean oil.
