Embracing the World at the Starting Point of the Ancient Silk Road
On May 22, 2025, the CRE Train (Xi'an) has operated over 2,500 trains this year. Among them is the X8489 CRE train fully loaded with automobiles, mechanical parts, household appliances and other goods, bound for Duisburg, Germany.
Chang'an, once the starting point of the ancient Silk Road, is now embracing the world with a new outlook. A high-standard opening-up corridor facilitating seamless domestic and international connectivity is taking shape in western China.
The CRE train (Xi'an) stands out as a shining example of this corridor's development. After more than a decade of exploration and growth, its international main lines have expanded to 18 routes, with the number of trains rising from just over a hundred in the early days to 4,985 trains in 2024.
