A few days ago, with a horn blowing, China's first CRE train for used car export set off from Xinzhu Station of China Railway Xi'an Group Co., Ltd. to Mataszewicze, Poland. The operation of this CRE train marks the official launch of China's used car export trade, making contributions to the development of the Belt and Road Initiative.
According to the statistics of China Automobile Dealers Association, in 2018, the trade volume of used cars in China reached 13.82 million, less than half of the sales volume of new cars (28.08 million). In the mature automobile markets of developed countries, the trade volume of used cars is generally twice the sales volume of new cars. Based on the general presumption that the export volume of used cars accounts for more than 10% of the total trade volume, there is great potential in China's used car export market. In April this year, Xi'an became one of the first 10 cities in China to export used cars. The approval of the second-hand car export is of great significance to maintain the stable development in China's auto sector and promote economic and trade cooperation between China and the countries and regions related to the Belt and Road Initiative.
