Beijing-Wuhan Section First Up to Safety Standard Demonstration Line Built by CR

It is a complicated and systematic project to promote the normalization of high-speed rail operating at 350 km/h, factoring into technical conditions, market demand, operating cost, and environment renovation. The Beijing-Guangzhou High-speed Railway is designed to operate between 300 km/h and 350 km/h. Currently, its normal operating speed is 310 km/h. Since its opening on December 26, 2012, the accumulated systematic and rich experience in safe operation and management of Beijing-Guangzhou High-speed Railway has won positive feedbacks during the transport of 1.6 billion passengers in total. CHINA RAILWAY has carried out the overall testing, inspection, and evaluation of the Beijing-Guangzhou HSR infrastructure and drew experience from the successful construction of Beijing-Shanghai and Chengdu-Chongqing HSR as a safe standard demonstration line in recent years. By virtue of these, the Beijing-Wuhan section becomes the first in the Beijing-Guangzhou HSR that meets the requirements for safety standard demonstration lines, facilitating the normalization of operation at a high standard of 350 km/h. At the same time, CR has comprehensively renovated the Wuhan-Guangzhou section, which has been operating for a long time with many tunnels and roads in bad conditions and is greatly impacted by external environment, in an effort to make it meet the criteria of a demonstration line as soon as possible.
