North and South Station Buildings of Xi'an Station Completed to Embrace the 14th Games of the People's Republic of China

The picture shows the interior of the south elevated waiting hall of Xi'an Station in recent days. On September 1, the south station building and the south elevated waiting hall of Xi'an Station were put into use, marking the complete connection of the north and south station buildings. The newly renovated Xi'an Station, facing the Ming Dynasty City Wall in the south and the Daming Palace National Heritage Park in the north, serve as a picturesque scene to welcome athletes for the 14th Games of the People's Republic of China and tourists from all over the country. Taking the reconstruction and expansion project of Xi'an Station as the key project serving the 14th Games, CHINA RAILWAY strengthened the overall coordination and promoted the project construction with high quality and efficiency. China Railway Xi'an Group Co., Ltd., as the construction contractor, fully implemented the deployment of the Party Leadership Group of CHINA RAILWAY, the CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, as well as the People's Government of Shaanxi Province. In the past 500 days, it overcame the difficulties of heavy engineering tasks, high technical difficulties and construction without operation interruption, and successively completed the key construction tasks such as the transition construction of Xi'an Station north yard, the construction of north square, the closed renovation of south station building and the construction of new north station building.
