Xiamen-Shenzhen High Speed Railway to be Fully Upgraded from April 10

  To meet the market demand and respond to the passengers’ needs, after more than one year of technical upgrading, Xiamen-Shenzhen HSR will be fully upgraded from April 10. The shortest travel time between Xiamen and Shenzhen will be shortened to 2.5 hours, and new ticket products such as the tickets of a fixed period and the tickets for multiple times will be available, so as to implement a more market-oriented ticket system with flexible price changes, and to better support the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.

  With a total length of 514 km, Xiamen-Shenzhen HSR connects some important coastal cities such as Xiamen, Chaozhou, Shantou, and Shenzhen. Since it was put into operation in 2013, it has carried a large number of passengers and kept a high traffic volume. It has well supported the economic and social development of the regions along the line and provided passengers with a more convenient travel experience. To further benefit the regions along the line and improve the operation quality of this line, since 2019, the railway sector has brought many upgrades to the Xiamen-Shenzhen HSR and launched many new services. Xiamen-Shenzhen HSR now allows trains to operate at a speed of 250 km/h.

  Trains on Xiamen-Shenzhen HSR will run at the speed of 250km/h. The timetable of this HSR will be optimized so that the travel time between Xiamen North Station and Shenzhen North Station can be as short as 2.5 hours. Besides, intercity trains between Chaoshan, Shenzhen, and Guangzhou are also put into operation.
